Quezon City History
2007
In 2007, Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. provided 40 brand new Toyota Vios with full communications equipment and two Hilux model pickup trucks, also equipped fully, to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) in a turnover ceremony held last January 30, 2007 at the Quezon City Hall quadrangle.
Accepting the mobile units were Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Oscar Calderon, National Capital Region Police Director General Reynaldo Varilla, and QCPD Officer-in-Charge Police Senior Superintendent Atty. Magtanggol Gatdula.
2004
In 2004, the Honorable Feliciano R. Belmonte, Jr. made his second inaugural address as Mayor of Quezon City. The following was his statement:
Your Honor, Chief Justice Hilario Davide, Jr., Vice Mayor Herbert M. Bautista, our Representatives in Congress, 1st District – Congressman Vincent Crisologo; 2nd District – Congresswoman Mary Ann Susano; 3rd District – Congressman Matias Defensor; and, 4th District, Congresswoman Nanette Castelo Daza; our newly-elected and re-elected Councilors, I welcome you to Team Quezon City. Colleagues, family and friends, I thank all of you for being here to grace this occasion.
Three years ago, when our people first entrusted me with the leadership of this great city, I promised to build what we called a “Quality Community,” a city we could all be happy to live in, and proud to serve.
Ipinangako ko sa inyo na magtatayo tayo ng isang bagong Lungsod Quezon na maipagmamalaki nating lahat, na ikatutuwa nating maging tahanan, at malugod nating paglilingkuran.
Today, that dream is much closer to reality. Today, once again, we have been gifted by the people with an opportunity to continue the transformation of Quezon City into a worthy home for its residents and a prime location for business and industry.
